About ASRF Competition

Innovative STEM women in Jordan will have the opportunity to receive 9,000 JODs to grow their ideas. This opportunity will be granted and supervised by ASRF, through its USAID-CIS funded STEM Innovation Awareness Project. This projects aims to raise awareness of the importance of increasing women participation in innovation in Jordan, and to encourage more women to participate in STEM competitions.

    July 11th, 2016 - July 14th, 2016
  4. Training

    July 14th, 2016 - August 18th, 2016
  5. Mentorship

    August 18th, 2016 - August 25th, 2016
  6. Presentation Preperation

    August 25th, 2016 - August 28th, 2016
  7. Announcing Winners

    August 28th, 2016

ASRF will accept proposals in the following sectors:

  • Environmental and Energy Solutions
  • Healthcare Solutions
  • Technology Solutions

Evaluation process will be as follows:

Proposals ,innovation in the idea, Work done up till this stage, Applicability

50% of total final grade

Training evaluation, Feasibility Study and Business Plan grades

30% of total final grade

Presentation-Communication Skills, Future plans

20% of total final grade

Who Can Apply:

  • Individuals or teams up to 4 (Men colleagues could be part of the team; however, the project must be led by a woman, and the majority of team members must be women)
  • Proposed ideas must be innovative; solutions with an added value (solutions for an unmet problem, safer solutions, solutions with lower price, solutions with higher efficiency or higher quality, etc.)
  • Ideas must be technologically and economically feasible (could be developed into a product that is cost effective)
  • Must have a proof of concept (working model, engineering design, pilot/lab scale success)

Code of Ethics:

  1. Confidentially:
    1. ASRF treats all information received confidently. ASRF keeps the information safe and only gives access to the information to persons needing to know the information in order to perform their duties.
    2. All owners, board members, employees, and consultants are prohibited from using the information submitted through the proposals or competitions without a prior approval of the applicants
    3. All evaluators, mentors, and trainers will sign non-disclosure agreement to protect the rights of applicants
  2. Transparency:
    1. ASRF maintains high ethical business standards and fairness in dealing with the proposals and evaluations
    2. ASRF will provide applicants with their proposals, feasibility study and business plans, and presentations’ grades, upon request
    3. ASRF will ensure equality among all applicants in grading their projects
